They tested with only 433 files (more clients than servers) and at that time ewido had just about 43.000 signatures etc.

A kinda silly post was removed from this place in the thread. The person posted about music groups and an old movie that was off-topic in a thread that we are taking seriously, as are the creators of Ewido which is a serious product.

An interesting comment that I found on another security forum. I have no way of knowing the validity of the comments but I would be interested in any comments or feedback. I am a licensed user - and it appears that this posting is suggesting that the free version has less vulnerabilities. Any comments?

Fish has already commented on this statement ( see http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=48208 ):

"We are currently fixing some of the following issues:
http://boardadmin.bo.funpic.de/viewtopic.php?t=42

For the problem with the detection of some (visual basic) trojans a whole new database is needed and we don't want that our users have to download it twice (new release, bug fix)... Also, a new and much better performing update-server is currently being set up... That's why we unforunately could not release the new version yesterday but will do so this week"

Both versions, free and plus, share the same engine...

Question Re: Is ewido reputable ?

When will the upgrade to the new version occur? I heard the new version is supposed to take care of the vulnerbilities mentioned in that article.
