the disk space usage in returnil

in the new version of returnil it takes 6.24GB disk space

(c:\returnil)

but in the older version it was just about 1GB~

why is it that large??

and why i need it , because i didnt create virtual disk??

can i control the amount of disk space used by returnil?? (or its automaticly)

What you are seeing is reserved space for the virtualization cache rather than used space. Windows has trouble distinguishing between the two so reports the space as used even when it isn't.

The cache is dynamic and is configured with a maximum size it can grow to before you need to restart to reset it based on a percentage of available free space on your hard drive. Ex:

1. You have a 120 GB hard drive with a single C:\ partition
2. In RVS, the default setting for the cache is 50% (see the slider in the System Safe settings)
3. Windows, programs, data take 15 GB

This means that the cache would be able to grow to a maximum of 50% of (120 - 15) = 52.5 GB. To change the size it can grow to, simply move the slider up for more cache or down for less cache.

When you restart your computer with System Safe off, the actual size of the cache should be 0.
