The update runs over 11meg. What is it?

The update for v2 was a base update.

From the website: Base update of virus databases takes place when it is appropriate to renew the file with the virus databases. This type of update downloads the whole file with the virus databases.

In other words, the entire Virus signature database was downloaded.
