Hello,
on my sisters laptop there is two partitions. C: and D: both are fat32. I would like to convert them both to ntfs since analysing the partitions with diskeeper trial takes ages. also ntfs is a better file system. so if i open up cmd and type convert D: /fs:ntfs would this convert the fat32 file system to ntfs without losing any data on that partision? I have moved the paging file from C: to D: since there is hardly anything on D: i was just gonna do it but just wanted to check quickly first. thanks in advance lodore

The disadvantage of a conversion from FAT32 is that the cluster size won't be 4k, like when you format a partition with NTFS. The result of a conversion is actually not efficient. (I know you are going to ask: ) Paragon Hard Disk Manager is an example of software that is able to modify the cluster size. |
