To check or not ?

Hello,

I'm testing FileChecker 1.7.

I loaded Folders: WINDOWS and WINDOWS/SYSTEM32.(probably redundant and if it is please let me know).

Selected EXE,DLL, OCX etc.

I have a list of all the selected programs with a blank square at the left hand side of each filename.

Question:

Should they be checked or not ?

What is the practical effect of checking or not the file names?

If checked do I have protection implemented ?
Unchecked do I have protection implemented?
