gmer.net is unavailable for access during some days. I was wondering - that's looks like DDoS attack :ninja: Anyone here can approve that, or maybe it is simple my browser/settings problem? o_O

    Cheers,
    - z0mbie.

    "Terrorists" was a metaphore.

    I'm sorry, can't approve that.
    It's looks like DDoS.

www.gmer.net resolved to 127.0.0.1, that means that site is dead. I noticed that gmer has been updates his register record at 16 december. Site was available for access few minutes, but after this it again been DDoSed.

    can anyone access gmer.net?

Hi All, I'm just asking because whenever I try to access gmer.net, or gmer.net/files.php i get a message that firefox cannot find the server.. In the drop down menu from the address bar gmer.net is marked as 403 forbidden,
gmer.net/files.php is marked as 404 not found... To me this sounds suspect??
have I gotten their address wrong? (I don't think so, neither did google!)
rootkit revealer reveals nothing, RKU detects 'a parasite inside itself" and then crashes where-ever I try to install it... Avira finds nothing (detected a trojan dropper DR/VB.s.1.B in a jpg(??) a few days ago, but shows all clean now)
Whenever I run DrWeb Cureit it finds trojan.StartPage.1505 hidden about in system restore and Spybot recovery, but never in the system proper and always as .reg files...? I have in the last few days removed TMIS, which always gave me a clean bill of health... even while drweb was busy detecting the startpage thing...
Spybot, ad-aware, Spyware teminator all find nothing
Any ideas gratefully received, as I'm getting more worried/confused as time goes by... (please tell me I'm paranoid!)
ps gmer.net is not in my hosts file... Thanks, argus

    Re: can anyone access gmer.net?

gmer.net under continuous DDoS attacks that were made by unknown terrorists. Gmer already changed his hoster provider but that didn't help, guys has taken for his seriously ;) I think he losing his website.

Before using any antirootkit please disable all system monitoring programmes and real-time defenders. And if RKU still crashes please post here screenshot of crash dialog. We will really appreciate that.

    Thanks.

    Gmer still down..

DrWeb owns the worst heuristic in terms of false positives. Keep that in mind!

e.g. cureit means that taskmate.exe might be a backdoor (hahaha)
the same thing with lots of aol and aim exe files... damn I don´t know how long this company will spread its oldschool scan engine full of false positives.

The site has been under DDOS attack for days, and the hosting was pulled off ("blackholed") because of bandwidth consumption. Gmer said this on the Malware Research forum.
