Hi Badcompany,

It is strange. When I installed beta 4.0.0.151, it was a trial version instead of the free version. The "Trial" wording appeared before I entered the license code. And the file size of 4.0.0.151 is still 1,600,272 bytes. It has not been changed since it was released.

There should be a total of 30 days of trial of the beta version. You can see the wording:

"Your trial of ewido anti-malware runs out in 22 days", since this screenshot was captured when 4.0.0.151 was installed at the 8th day.

So for how long have you installed this 4.0.0.151 beta? More than 30 days already?

Hi Chubb,
No, I had it installed for only one hour,it would not update so I uninstalled and reinstalled that was my problem, you can only download the full program once. After that you get the free version. Today I recieved anew 30day key from Ewido, so everything is ok now.

Hm... It seems that the file and version is the same, but they simply adjust your license remote from their server. Or maybe they have changed the trial policy for the 4.0.0.151 beta since it very old, and the final version 4.0.0.172 is out today. You may give the final 4.0.0.172 a try.

To play safe, it is always better to uninstall the old beta and install the final version.

Badcompany: I would recommend that you try the released version 3.5 for evaluation, rather than the beta product. 3.5 is stable and works very well.

To compare a released product (A²) with a beta version will not give you the result you want (especially now that I realize that the Ewido beta does not contain the guard without a license code).

The release version 3.5 trial lets you test the guard for 30 days.

Sorry again for the misinformation I posted earlier.

Hi Pwillener, I have tried 3.5 for the 14 days trial, and A-Squared.I have decided to purchase Ewido 4.

I don't know what you're talking.

People are slow to get the news. Ewido 4.0 is final and also has a trial that includes a functioning guard and autoupdates.

I used the ewido beta version 4 on trial and uninstalled it today to use the final version, but I can't trial that one since I already used the other one for the 30 days. So is there anything I can do to trial the new version to run it active for 30 days to see if the memory usage, cpu usage etc got fixed in this final built.

I am wondering why the final version's installer is so much larger than the beta installers (4.0.0.150: 1.5MB; 4.0.0.152: 8.2MB)...? Not complaining, just wondering...

But I am a little disappointed that the final version 4.0.0.152 did not uninstall the previous version during the install. Now I have two versions...

Yeah the beta version stays in the add\remove list even after you remove it.
