Well Maxthon claims to be safer than Internet Explorer. Is there an update for the problem here?

Your question concern a special Maxthon territory, i'm not an Maxthon security expert, i don't know.

Answer is short: yes

By the courtesy of Flash, Maxthon forum member:


Just add

*.wmf

to your Content Filter (Web Ad Filter), and then it's enabled and you are protected.

Tested on "pornsites-reviews[dot]com"...

It blocked

iframebiz[dot]biz/xpl.wmf


Of course you can do this with all potential dangerous content


Don't forget to restart Maxthon after modifying the Content Filter.
