Default Malware Infection

Have a disturbing notice popping up on my screen saying computer is infected, and a dangerous malware infection was detected on my PC. Have run Spybot, CW Shredder, Spyware Blaster, Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool (Beta), and a complete computer scan through my Norton Internet Security program. Had a few bugs show up that were removed or quaranteened. Have re-run most everything to be sure and nothing is showing up. But still get the notice. If I click on it, it takes me to a site for SpyAxe, which can be downloaded, but must be purchased if you want to run it. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue? Would prefer not to spend more money on programs, but if that is necessary, will do it. Appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Wilders.

Is the popup coming through Windows Messenger Service?

If so, take a look here on how to disable it,

Hopefully you're not infected with this crap already.

This thread will be moved to the appropriate forum shortly.
