Hi I want to clone the hard disk in my Sony Vaio laptop running XP Pro in order to upgrade to a larger one.

On my home network I have a Macintosh G4 running OSX 10.2.8 with 2 Mac formatted external firewire HDs to which I read/write from the laptop as a matter of course.

But will the process of creating an image of my Vaio and restoring it to a new HD work over this Win/Mac network?

    thanks

    Hello xplat,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We regret to inform you that you cannot create image to Macintosh via network, because it use Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) and not SMB protocol. Please note that you can store the image file(s) on CDs, on DVDs, on a local drive or on an external drive.

    Thank you.
