I built two systems for friends.
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum which has Nforce3 chipset. TI will not boot from the boot disk. It starts to load and then eventually locks up the computer. Non raid setup. Has anyone booted from the boot disk with this system? This really sucks if they can't use it. |

Have you tried hitting f11 when the Loading... appears, then use the quietacpi=off noapic switch?

Hello Rod Williams,
Thank you for your interest in Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing...cts/trueimage/). Please try the "acpi=off noapic" workaround and if it doesn't help please create sysinfo.txt file and send to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread (please see http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317 for the detailed instructions). We will certainly help you with the solution. Thank you. -- Irina Shirokova

I actually don't get that far. I just made a boot disk, and the system won't boot on it at all.

Try to make a ISO Image of the burned Restore Disk, then burn the ISO in Nero or something similar, making sure to check "Finalize". This seemed to fix the problem for me.

Hello TurboTad,
Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing...cts/trueimage/). First of all, please make sure you use the latest build, which is available on our web site at http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/. To get access to updates you should register your software first at http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/registration/. Please disable any download managers, internet download/connection boosters, etc. before the download. After that please create new Acronis Bootable CD with the latest build and try using it. If the problem persists please describe where exactly the boot precess stops. What happens after you see the PCI device listing (that is reported by your BIOS and should be visible in any way)? This will allow us to investigate the problem. Thank you. -- Ilya Toytman
