When I try to re-install NOD32 I get the error:
(116) Error occured while updating the registry! I use XP Pro + SP2. Any help would be greatly appreciated. redrose01 |

Maybe you're logged in the account of a limited user or the registry is corrupted. Are you able to add an arbitrary entry to the HKLM\Software branch manually?

I don't think I logged in the account of a limited user.
Don't know if I'm able to add an arbitrary entry to the HKLM\Software branch manually. I'm not that technical, I'm sorry .... |

Hi,
try this: 1-remove nod 32 (or any trace of it) through "add-remove" 2-goto start/execute and digit regedit 3-cllick HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE (click on grey triangle) 4-click SOFTWARE (click on grey triangle) 5-find and remove the ESET file (right click delete) exit reboot delete your ESET file from your root/program file if still there re-install NOD 32 good luck Tony |

Thanks for your reply tony64!
I did everything you wrote, I even used a few reg-editers after that. But when the installation is almost finished I still get the same error... |

The thing is that the installer could not write into the registry. I'd suggest to run regedit, navigate to HKLM\Software, righ-click Software and select New -> Key from the context menu. Are you able to create it? Maybe you could try creating some values within that key also.

Thanks for your reply Marcos.
I managed to create a new key and I also can write some values. What values do I have to type in it? |

I merely wanted you to try if you were able to write anything to the registry. Please drop an email to support@eset.com with a link to this thread.
