spyblaster won't work

hi,
newbie here,
i have downloaded spyware blaster and installed it repeatedly but it when i try to run it it says the program is damaged either by a bad sector on my hard drive {not this 1 as i have tried installing on two separate drives} or by a virus now i have scanned all the components with avast! and it reports nothing but it still won't work can anyone help?
i am running windows me with a 1 ghz processer.
