grin, maybe I'll post over a few days from Spain
(wouldn't be a bad idea cause I have very dear friends living there (they emigrated a few years ago) and I would love to see them....).

I could update through Start > Programs > The Cleaner > Moolive.

But when I clicked on that option to get details of the update, I got that "No Database Selected" that we all seem to get from their site.

Still no ibu.dll

These are the files now in my The Cleaner dir.:
[hr]
cabinet.dll
cleaner.cdb
cleaner.cdb.bak
cleaner.exe
cleaner.exe.bak
cleaner3.cnt
cleaner3.FTS
cleaner3.GID
cleaner3.hlp
INSTALL.LOG
license.txt
logfile.txt
logs.zip
moolive.db
MooLive.exe
moolive.inf
moolive.log
problems.log
readme.txt
tc$1135.TMP
tc$81A4.TMP
tc$95.TMP
tca.exe
tca.exe.bak
tcm.bak
tcm.dat
tcm.exe
tcm.hlp
tcm.log
tcshellex.dll
tcshli.dll
uinst.exe
unace.dll
unacev2.dll
unrar.dll
unrar3.dll
UNWISE.EXE
update.dat

Then I started The Cleaner, filled again in my name and registration, and ibu.dll was again in my windows folder.

I rebooted; ibu.dll was still in the windows folder.
Starting The Cleaner: no prob.
Closed The Cleaner.
Start > Programs > The Cleaner > Moolive to check again for update.
Authetication failed again.
(again you have to give your name and registration).

The problem has to be fixed by MooSoft; they are the only ones who can come up with a solution.

Jan,

So that's a temporarily fix? A nuisance indeed - but workable.

Sure! .

Jan,

glad to hear it "fixed" the update so far for you- do you also assume it is a "server problem" ??

I also tried to get a new copy - that page is BLANC - so something is definitely wrong with their server.

Daniel still didn't "show up" - maybe he is still "busy" with his Thanksgiving turkey

I have been running The Cleaner for over 2 years, and out of the blue, I receive a 30 trial period, luckily I had kept my registration, after entering that everything is okay, and their most recent download file.

Welcome, Siofor,

Until Moosoft has cleaned up their act, this is indeed the only way to go for those encountering this problem.

On a side note: it's recommended to keep needed registration info and/or reg keys stored - preferably outside one's system. A severe O/S crash needing a format causes loss of such an info - and one could end up buying the installed commercial software once more..

regards.

Hi All,

I just received an e-mail:

Due to an error on my database server some of you were hit with a problem
where your copy of The Cleaner was "unregistered" after updating with
MooLive. The problem has been corrected and you can re-register by
entering your current registration information. You do not need to
purchase the software again. If you have lost your registration code
please go to http://www.moosoft.com/thecleaner/regquery
and enter your
email address to look up your registration information. I apologize for
the trouble!
