    Hi there,

I have on pc with windows me, that I use not so often and now I want update it up to date, but Internetfilter isn't updated..

The NOD32 Version was 2.000.9 and now after update it is 2.12.3.

All is updatet, inclusive Advanced Heuristic component and Archive component, but Internetfilter not!

I have seen this fault previously, but I thought, that this is only temporary, but now it is again there.

I think NOD32 have an update problem with the Internetfilter component..

Please fix that eset, I don't want to download the 2.12.3 full installation version...

    thx and best regards,

    iNsuRRecTiON

Hi iNsuRRecTioN, unfortunatly you will need to do the following:

Please download a FRESH copy of Nod32 from www.nod32.com

    Uninstall your current version.

Remove the Eset Folder from C Drive> Program Files.

Install the FRESH copy of Nod32 that you downloaded above.

Let us know how you go…

    Cheers :D

    Hi,

    that is what I don't want :p

NOD32 must update it by itself.

Eset have to improve the internal update component in NOD32 ;-)

    thx and best regards,

    iNsuRRecTiON

I understand, and Eset are continually improving Nod32, MOST upgrades will go straight over the top of a previous version, HOWEVER, on a rare occasion it causes and issue, as is the case with your system, thus in order to fix your problem you will need to follow the advice I have given...

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers :D

It is known, and actually happens with ALL software on rare occasions no matter what software developer is involved. 99% of the time and I can do an upgrade as discussed above with every piece of software on my system, the other 1% I have to uninstall a program after the installation goes haywire and reinstall a FRESH copy of what I was trying to upgrade.

    Hope this helps...

    All the best.

    Cheers :D

Have you tried a FRESH install as described above, does this fix the problem?

If the answer to my question is no, can you please send an email to support@nod32.com and place a link to this thread. If you do not hear from Eset within 3 days (allows for weekends), please advise us here...

We would appreciate if you could keep us in the loop with your progress, as we all learn this way…

    Cheers :D

    Hi Marcos,

please look at the Internet Filter:

    Internetfilter, Version: 1.001 (20031104)
    Internetfilter, Build: 1012

is that the newest?! --> NO!

So please, fix that, because, NOD32v2.12.3 said no Update..but Internetfilter is too old!

    thx and best regards,

    iNsuRRecTiON

    Hi iNsuRRecTioN:

I would suggest downloading a fresh copy of NOD32, uninstalling your current version and installing the fresh copy. For whatever reason, that machine did not take the latest updates.

You could attempt to install over the top to retain your current settings (This generally works) and update the components.

Drop us a note if this works.

Hmm, do you read this thread complete or do you want only posts?

Your solution with download new version, complete uninstall and install the new one had suggest another one already.

but this is no solution, I want that Eset make an solution and is informed about this mistake, because that is not the first one. On Windows 2k Pro SP4 I have the same problem and must download the new version and uninstall the old version and install the new one, but this is not cool.

For what is the update/upgrade feature in NOD32v2, if that don't work correctly and now I have the problem in Windows ME again..

So please look after it and fix that.

You can fix it in NOD32v2.13.x, so I have to download once again this ne package and then, the update and upgrade module work without problems and every module is updated in future correctly.

    thx and best regards,

    iNsuRRecTiON

PS: I wrote to Marcos (or other ESET people), not to other :p

    Hi iNsuRRecTioN:

    I read the entire post.

2.12.3 was never made into a mirror update (unless the German version was the exception to the rule-which I doubt). 2.12.2 was the last mirror update. The only way you are going to get the 2.12.3 components is to either uninstall/re-install or install over the top (there is nothing for Eset to fix, since it was not a mirror component update but a fix for users experiencing for the most part, issues loading certain web pages-unless the German version was the exception to the rule as stated above).

It would appear you had a corrupt install. The version you are listing for the Internet Filter is the 2.12.2 version for Win9x.

    Hi,

    @rumpstah, no you aren't right!

I have copy and paste this infos from the NOD32 System Info and nothing is edited!

The previous version was 2.000.9 and the NOD32 update module upgrade with an component update to version 2.12.3 and not 2.12.2!

If I had installed a new full Version from Eset than the Internet Filter component Version should be dated to 2004 not 2003 as last update!

    Thx and best regards,

    iNsuRRecTiON

Maybe there is wrong version info in registry and it won't update.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Eset\Nod\CurrentVersion\InstalledComponents\PwScannerBuild

maybe in registry you have new bulid version ,but you have still installed old version(seen in info panel) .
You may look there and see the decimal value. you may try to change it to number you currently have installed. And then update nod. BTW: Do it at your own risk.
