Hi again,

Hold the celebrations...

I don't believe this!!!
The program works, i do a shutdown of my computer and i come back to it two days later.
And the flamin' error message is back again.
(The computer was left exactly as it was when it worked, all i have done is re-enable the Rainlendar, Pop-Up-Stopper, Avast and ID-Blaster in MSconfig.)
I disabled them again in MSconfig (apart for Avast), reboot, update and now every thing is back working again.

Now i have re-enabled Rainlendar, shutdown and Ewido is still working.
Removed Rainlendar from MSconfig, and enabled ID-Blaster.
Shutdown, started up again and Ewido is still working.
Removed ID-Blaster from MSconfig, and enabled Pop-Up-Stopper.
Shutdown, started up again and....

I got the ******* error message again...
I removed Pop-Up-Stopper via the Add-Remove.

I then re-enabled Rainlendar and ID-Blaster again in MSconfig and shutdown.
Restarted, and again i got the error message box, i then did an update of Ewido again.
I still have the error message box coming up when i start Ewido.
Shutdown and restarted again, and still i get the error screen again.
(Plus the Signature folder that had the latest updates in it, is now empty.

I did a Registry clean with jv16 Power Tools, and shutdown.
I started up Ewido again (Rainlendar and ID-Blaster still enabled in MSconfig.)
I still get the error message box.

I disabled Rainlendar and ID-Blaster again in MSconfig and shutdown.
Restarted and still i get the error message box.
(And now no files in the Signatures box.)

I re-enabled Rainlendar and ID-Blaster again in MSconfig and deleted Ewido and shutdown.
I then restarted and re-installed Ewido again (Background Guard enabled this time.)
I then clicked on the Ewido program, and got the error mesage box again.
I then did an update of Ewido again, and this time i got the error mesage box again.

Disabled Rainlendar in MSconfig (just rebooted not shutdown.)
I got the error mesage box again.
Disabled ID-Blaster in MSconfig (just rebooted not shutdown.)
I got the error mesage box again.

I then tried to do an update again, and still it came up with the error box.

Sorry, but this is when i gave up on the program totally.
As again there were no files in the Signatures folder again..
And i then re-installed my other stuff instead.

We're totally sorry for all the inconvenience! Fortunately we now know what's causing all this and are currently fixing it.

Hi,

Many thanks to everyone for the help and the pointers.
I hope that my postings have helped in some way?
Good luck with the program, as when i had it on my computer it was very good.
Any chance of letting me know what it was?

Hi again,

I am wondering how the Ewido program is doing?
Have the problems been sorted out?

Hi to all,

Firstly, sorry for not getting back on how my computer was getting on with Ewido.
I was checking on this forum, and i was under the impression that the update or fix had not yet been released, because of some of the other posts.

I have re-downloaded the Ewido program again.
Stopped all programs that were open in the bottom taskbar, and installed the program again. (Background Guard disabled)
Rebooted, and Ewido worked and it asked about getting an update.
I updated the program, and i was then able to to scan my computer.
It seems to me that the Ewido program now works on my machine.

And it even found a cookie on my computer, that the other software missed.

Also my computer software specs have changed a little:

Windows XP Home SR2 update installed
Avast Anti-Virus installed (instead of AVG)
