SST Secure Shuttle Transport by Boomerang Software

dunno if this the right place for such kind of post. Sorry in case.

Program in thread subject is concerned.
Location is http://www.secureshuttle.com/Index.htm

Question is: How can I be sure it doesn't contain any malware built-in or acquired.
I can see, with TaskInfo process manager, that almost any application running on my PC is loading this DLL module belonging to SST:

C:\Program Files\SST\Bin\Shuttlehook.dll

Proggie also opens and listens to a random port every time it is launched.

This looked suspicious to me.

Is there any way or tip to investigate this further.
