Question Where is a safe place to buy PC Games?

A client of mine wants me to buy her 2 games, one is Assasin Creed III and the other one is Battlefield something cant remember the name it's at work

Is there any website that is reliable and does international shipping to the middle east that I can purchase them from?

I use Play-Asia for buying PC games that are unavailable in my country. Usually very reliable, though standard shipping in my country takes up to a month to be delivered - so this depends on how fast customs in your country works.

If I were in your shoes I'd make a post and/or do a search on slickdeals.net.

Why don't you buy them and ship them to her?

Steam = AC III /Origin = Battlefield

So you dont need to send anything , just download and it is fine.

But be aware also that Steam will invade your system with DRM/anti-cheat nonsense. Origin is even worse.

I prefer to buy cheap serials only and then use it for Steam games mostly. I do not buy DVDs anymore, only used DVDs from ebay to get a cheap licence for old games.

Why do you think that Anti-cheat is nonsense?
I ask because there's nothing worse than playing against players that is cheating.

It's not the idea of anti-cheat engines that I'm against. It's the measures taken that end up turning into legal rootkits and spyware. Some of this stuff can really dig in deep and invade the systems of users. They can be very aggressive.

Yeah I agree that they should re-design the anti-cheat system/s in this regard, to be less aggressive on the system itself But at the moment it is what it is afaik.

If you need the game media (DVDs) shipped to an address, Play-Asia is the best bet and has been most reliable for me. Otherwise, there are many sites for downloading games such as GamersGate, DLGamer, GamesRocket, etc. all with deals running from time to time. I buy games from these sites from time to time and they've been fine.

You could also try one of those CD Key sites (G2Play, CJS CD Keys, etc.) that provide keys for you to activate and download (and are generally pretty cheap), but the legality of those is questionable and I've heard of people occasionally having very bad experiences.

BTW, are you sure these games are not available locally? EA has a good EMEA presence, BF3 should be easily available....AC3 has not released yet so all you'll get is preorders as of right now.

Only way to avoid this is not playing anything ... (remember Starforce ? SecuROM ? )
Anyway I love Steam , it is keeping the pc gaming alive and strong.

1- Good prices ( bargain sometimes)
2- Games always up to date
3- Your game library always with you
4- Good community and chat implementation

GOG.com has DRM free games cheap and lots of good sales. Also a few good freebies there as well.

Feel free to elaborate.
You need not install their anti-cheat software if you don't want.

Mrk

But Steam has to be running in order to play games from them.

That is right. But then, you can say, on OS has to be running to play anything. It's a framework, and a decent one. The anti-X stuff is optional really.
