What about Zero Day Shield? Seems to be a really nice feature.

I would like to know too since this feature doesn't have any visible settings.

what the Zero-Day Shield add to the heuristics/detection?

It would be really cool if we could uninstall wsa from a pc using the web console.

Does this new version attempt to transfer your settings (at least compatible ones that haven't changed) when it updates?

Hi,
I use WSA in a multi layered approch with CIS, its set up as pretty much fire n forget,
I was unaware of this update.... great surprise
Have spent this morning testing my system and can happily say with confidence that with all settings maxed out WSA plays nice with CIS and with minimum resource use
Thanx guys

You are right there, most impressive with bells on! I've had no problems whatsoever with 2.14 & had no phone calls from relatives or friends yet either (for which I am forever thankful)

I keep getting the "Shields Disabled" message. I re-enable them and a few minutes later voila "Shields Disabled". I did install over the previous version so I don't know if I should have maybe done a clean install.

I wonder if anyone else has an oddity on the license data.
Mine shows the following

287 days remaining
Active for 1 month + 8 days

It was activated back on in June 6 (approx) and try as I may I cannot get anything to add up. I know there was more than a year (maybe 15 months) but even so........

Great update by the way, didn't even notice.

Hi,
Would just like to say that having spent 3 hours trying to infect a virtualbox W7
running WSA 8.0.2.14 I have been totally unsuccessful which is a result only achieved by CIS previously in my own tests.
Although clicking on malicious links activates the websheild pop up which even when I choose to block does not stop the .exe from downloading
Has any one else noticed this ?
Thanx Popcorn

Hello,
That's what I wrote today to support ...

********************************************
I have noticed that the web shield is not working correctly in Opera 12.02.

Let's say webpage ...tube dot com. I tried to go on that page and I was prompted by WSA that the page is bad etc. letting me to choose either Block or Allow the page. I opted to block what resulted in opening another three sheets with Google search page but to my surprise the bad page was also opened in the first sheet of Opera.

Secondly I followed the above steps with exception that when I got the WSA prompt I did nothing, i.e. not choosing Block or Allow, just waiting. After let's say 3 seconds I could see in the backgroung the bad page was loaded and the WSA prompt disappeared then.

These issues are fully reproducible on my end.

Though in IE9 it works how it is supposed to ... if I block the bad page I am taken to Google search page and the bad page never show up.

Moreover there are a few pages being blocked by WSA in IE9 which are not blocked by Opera at all. It means they are displayed in Opera even without having the WSA prompt at least.
*******************************************

So your problem might be of the same nature.

Webshield seems to be working OK in Firefox 15.01, I was attempting to open a site to beta test a program & the site was blocked - I actually out of interested attempted to paste the link into a site adviser & that was blocked too, well & truly.

After attemting on other browsers can only replicate this on Opera, Firefox and Chrome block the download, haven't tried with IE yet. I like the fact that when blocked you are redirected to HTTPS-google.

Am also seeing this in FF Chrome an Opera, can happily say that even with the web shield bug (?) WSA kept my system squeaky clean.

The active protection count started in one of the previous builds when we implemented the active counting. It is a precise number so if you only turn on your computer for one hour per week, you would see a year show only 52 hours of active protection.

This is a significant new component which takes into account several attributes of active processes and works to identify what looks like an exploit. This has a side benefit of also improving protection on polymorphic threats and highly obfuscated server-side generated threats as well.

I can also confirm the issue with Opera 12.02 and Web Threat Shield but Firefox 15.0.1 & IE9 works fine.

Thanks - Opera keeps moving very quickly so I think we'll need to test further. Their headquarters are next to one of our offices so I might just stop by next door

As soon as I saw the new settings screen, I fell in lve with Joe and Prevx/Webroot all over again...

They've managed go do what so few seemingly can: make a wide range of settings, within multiple categories/aspects of a security solution, into just one concise page of easy-to-understand slider bars offering one explicit user type preference on one side, in betweens, and the other type of user's preference on the other side.

Excellent, fantastic work! My goodness! What a pleasure WSA is to use!

Nobody else does this. Sure, a solution like MSE is super simple too, but there's a HUGE difference perhaps not evident to some: MSE's few settings change few settings....

...WSA's few settings each change several settings, each of which have been logically grouped up into slider bars.

I am in love. Thank you, Joe & the rest of the Webroot team!

And if you want to fine tune it further, you can by clicking on Advanced Settings. The options are there for those who like it simple, and for those who do like to tweak.

I'm using WSA Essentials and when I go to the web console it says:

Your Data/Password management account is not yet ready to use

It's been this way for a few days. Has this not been rolled out yet or might there be a problem with my account?
