sure there are extensions that are FF only but as both opera and chrome mature i think it will become less and less so.

FF lags on my laptop (I use it on my desktop, though). I use Dragon on my laptop.

Same here, the 32 bit version lacks quite a bit. 64 bit Pale moon is better but still lags. I found similar issues although not so bad with Chrome 32, that's why I finally settled on Opera 64. It's the lightest and fastest browser I have ever used,

I quite like Opera myself. It's light and fast.
But, again, I miss some add-ons.

Yeah I know what you mean. I am missing HTTPS everywhere. Im still trying to find a way to replace it. The funny thing is that I literally couldn't stand Opera before but right now I love every part of it.

Never heard of such a browser. How does the Pale Moon run on your system?
Currently, I’m running the latest firefox with add-ons i.e. addblock plus, better privacy ect…. And recently I had to clean reinstalled the firefox 15.0.1 and spring cleaned the add-ons and bookmarks because it had took too much of time to start-up and even worst at cold start-up. Now firefox seems start-up faster and runs smoother but still it legs start-up culprit is addblock plus but I can’t live without it. Comodo Dragon with adclock plus beta 1.2 doesn’t seem to negative impacted on its performance and compared to firefox 15.0.1 Comodo Dragon starts-up and runs faster than firefox. I run all my brows in Sandboxie. I'm on Windows 7 home premium x64 sp1

Slow start/cold start is a well known issue in Firefox. Palemoon doesn't solve it, but it is a bit faster when browsing and more stable.

Until recently Firefox was my favorite. Today I use Chrome due to its neat sandboxing and other security enhancing features that other browsers seem to lack.

Pale Moon runs very well for me, at least so far. Waterfox is touted as being the faster variant, but I find on my pc, that Pale Moon starts and loads webpages quicker. So far, for me, the only drawback for Pale Moon is that it's not compatible with as many themes as Waterfox. I don't use any add-ons, except for Forecastfox, so I don't know if that's an issue too.

Cimmerian, I do appreciate your response!

The latest version of the firefox runs brisk in safe mode on my system. I didn’t have this much of problems with firefox with avast and comodo firewall ran on my system but the avast free antivirs 7 caused the system restart issues (very slow 7min) and sometimes had to forced shutdown the system because it got stuck. The system log didn’t report anything relate to restarting/avast. There were quite a few reports of a system restart problems at avast forums. I have resolved the delayed system restart problems by uninstalled avast and to clean installed CIS 5 with D+ in proactive mode and configured the D+ to Chirons’ guide to “How to Install Comodo Firewall” and afterwards system boots up fast and most of the apps run a OK but the firefox. Nevertheless once firefox booted up it runs decent and loads webpages not too bad. I’m going to give the Pale Moon a test drive on my VirtualBox along with the latest version of the firefox. I’m not that keen on themes rather preferred focused on the security, privacy and performance.

No problem Traveler. You should give Waterfox a spin as well, in case you haven't yet, it stays truer to Firefox than Pale Moon.
BTW, will be traveling on Rte 80 this weekend..

Cimmerian, I’ll give Waterfox a test drive. Thanks. Pale Moon runs a bit faster than firefox on VirtualBox but haven’t got a chance to tested on my host machine but eventually will get it on. A tab placement option on Pale Moon is an unexpected surprise unnecessary IMHO. Off topic, hehe… Route 80? I’ve got lots of memory of Route 17, 46, 3, 287, 278, 678, 1 and 9, 95, Garden State Pkwy, 295, 195, 9A, FDR and I hate Long Island Expy and Southern Pkwy. GWB lower deck is a God sent. LOL. In mid 80’s, I used to hang out with friends out skirts of NYC mainly in Bergen county area and sometimes in midtown Manhattan. I used to lived in Bay Area so Route 80 it is. I no longer live in neither places. Wish you a happy travel.

I keep going back to Orca Browser. Sadly it's no longer supported and it is a little outdated now, but I have updated some of the files used by Orca, with the updated versions from Avant Browser.

I use Avant from time to time, but I find it too resource heavy for my liking. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with only 2 gigs of RAM so this is an issueat the moment until I add more RAM.

Other than Maxthon, I do not like any other web browser. I can configure Orca/Avant/Maxthon to work exactly how I want without having to use any addons. This is something I simply can't do with any other web browsers.

I configured Avant to work how I want a few years ago. I can install Avant or Orca on any computer and enter my Avant username and password and it will retrieve my custom configuation (which I set up a few years ago), favourites and auto logins from the web. There's no need for me to configure anything.

I wish I could say that I had a favorite browser, but I can only say that IE9 is my "least objected" browser.

Opera would be my fave if it was as light on resources as is Opera 64.

My favorite browser is the one that would have HTTPS Everywhere on it.

Am still undecided about what browser to use on an old XP system. Torn between Iron, Chrome, and FF.
