Default Auto Scanning with Download Managers

Hi All,

I've searched this, but most of the information I came up with was about 3 years old (or more):

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showt...wnload+manager
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=234653

One of these posts suggested the following, is this correct?
Quote:
In the settings for FDM, just take the check mark out of 'Perform Virus Check'. Nod32 automatically scans the download as it is downloading, so there is no need for FDM to trigger a further scan

If not, basically I'm using ESET Smart Security and Free Download Manager (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/). To get the download manager to perform a virus check I need to specify an executable path, command line arguments and an extensions list.

Executable Path:
I'm open to suggestions here. Pointing it to egui will (I assume) just bring up the GUI. Is 'ecls.exe' the one that I'm looking for?

Arguments:
This is the one that I really need help with. All I know is it needs to start with: %file%
As for the arguments and their sequence that follow this, I'm at a loss.

Extensions:
By default it includes: exe com msi zip rar arj tar t?z bin cab doc
Does anyone have a more complete list?

Thanks for any help.

Cheers

Chris

The advice given in the post you quoted still holds true. There's no need to have FDM scan a download that ESS will scan anyways. In fact, having both of them scanning the download could cause more problems than it solves.
