Default Can I Browse Anonymously and Keep Chrome?

I would like to browse the Internet with no one being able to tell what sites I go to, but I would really like to keep Chrome for its security, speed, and simplicity. How could I do this?

It would also need to be free

Disable prediction service, the phishing & malware protection, (maybe) translate pages and I think you stopped all urls sent to Google.

I've already done all that. I also mean from 3rd parties, and ISP.

Of course tell it to only accept cookies from sites that you visit. Maybe add scriptno https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/scriptno. And then of course a VPN.

Also, what is the best proxy switcher?

Proxy Switchy! while the best rated, says it has access to your whole computer. Many of the others say they still have access to your browsing activities, or your data on all websites, so I really don't know which would be best.

Install SRWare Iron https://www.srware.net/en/software_s...me_vs_iron.php
And get this addons: adblock, flag for chrome, ghostery, https everywhere, scriptno, and trafficlight
And check and change the defaukt settings of chrome.

Why not use Chrome's "incognito mode"? Or just add "click and clean" to Chrome. Its that easy.

OP also wants privacy "from 3rd parties, and ISP". For that, as caspian said, OP will need to use VPNs (and/or Tor).

When I was younger I had this really cool cat. I use to play with him all the time. But he started getting pretty rough. He would grab a hold of my arm and bite and start kicking and scratching with his hind legs. So I started wearing a leather glove. But evidently sometimes I guess I would get too rough with him and he would get mad and run across the room and under a chair. Well, almost under the chair. He was almost hidden underneath the chair. But his hind end was sticking out and his tail was flicking back and forth. It was so funny. He thought he was hidden. That's what HideMyAss reminds me of.

Something else just came to mind. You know today people get all worked up about porn on the internet and how kids can see it. But when I was 13 or so it was very common for guys my age to have a Penthouse or Playboy magazine. It was so easy to get one. And we would often times hide them under our mattress, thinking "Mom will NEVER find it here", haha! That also comes to mind when thinking of HideMyAss.__

Oh, it's very relevant. People take some half-steps and think they've become invisible/anonymous/secure/whatever.

There isn't as I can see, you can hide your header agent or use a proxy switcher but there is nothing like TOR for Chrome.

I'ts easy to browse anonymously - use TAILS Live ISO. As for Chrome, until it passes muster from the Tor project - indeed, HideMyAss is as much of an oxymoron as browsing anonymously with Chrome.

If not using Tor, you can find a non-logging VPN service to hide your IP address to remain somewhat anonymous, but as for Chrome - as mentioned above, try SRWare Iron.

Doesn't Iron just disable some settings that are enabled by default in Chrome?

Browsers other than FireFox can be used with Tor. It's unlikely that the Tor developers will be testing a lot of other browsers regarding their suitability for use with Tor. They don't have the time or manpower for testing other browsers. The rapid updating of FireFox added plenty to the workload already.

If you want to use another browser with Tor, you'll have to do your own setup and testing. Getting most browsers to use Tor isn't the problem. The problems are:
1, Making sure that all the traffic, including DNS, goes through Tor.
2, Making sure that the browser, plugins, extensions, etc don't leak personally identifiable info.

The browser has to be Socks5 compatible. It needs to be configured to send all DNS through the Socks5 proxy and not use the system DNS service. The user needs to make certain that the browser does not make any direct connections. A firewall with good outbound control, including the loopback/local traffic is almost a necessity here.

The user needs to make certain that no personally identifiable data is being sent. That will require control over the plugins, testing/verifying of the extensions that you use, and control over javascript. At a minimum, this will require a NoScript type of extension and the ability to configure it to control javscript. If one isn't available for your browser, you'll need a separate app like Proxomitron or Privoxy and the appropriate filters. This will require that you know how to chain them, which may require a separate Socks proxy like SocksCap. See this thread.

There's a lot to do and more to check if you want to use a different browser with Tor.

That's excellent, noone_particular

One other thing: the Tor Project doesn't even recommend using stock Firefox. That's why they no longer do Torbutton.

You can use TOR as some users suggested above, it is much slower though and I don't recommend using it to download files or stream video since this will ruin it for others who use it to circumvent censorship, e.g. in china...etc

And also SSL proxy servers, those are not free though and also slower than normal.

I use PirateRay to browse anonymously , they provide a simple application with SSH encrypted tunneling and different proxy servers (constantly updated). So I just run application and change proxy settings in Chrome and it works good for me.
The same application works well for any bittorrent client, by the way.
So the full traffic is encrypted and protected.
