they said CIS can...

You have to donwload CIS and then before installing you can choose not to install the AV. Once installed go to the settings and there is one setting (a checkbox) to disable D+ permanently (requires reboot) and also disable the sandbox. Then you have only Comodo Firewall. Remember to change the profile to Proactive.

Take a look to this https://www.techsupportalert.com/con...o-firewall.htm

After seeing Languy's video, I am not as excited as some of you to try it. Maybe it'll grow on me, but my 1st impression wasn't a good one.

As hard as I've been on real-time (AV) scanning, I'm going to give the full CIS 6 suite a try. I'll wait a few months after the final release comes out to do so, maybe an update or two into it. I always do so bugs can be worked out. I have no test machine so I have to play it safe. I don't do betas.

I'll give it the product an opportunity to see if it runs light enough to warrant keeping the whole thing. So I haven't closed the book on real-time AV's altogether. But if I'm reminded of why I abandoned them, I'm falling back to the FW/D+ only again.

I don't like many things about CIS 6. It has a lot of very bad design decisions. And i also hate the new trey icon. Square icon is fine but they way how they smudged the "C" inside a smudged cube is just ridiculous. And popups are all too much cluttered with nonsense graphics. I like it in one way but if i'm honest i'd rather see the existing CIS 5.10 GUI with sandbox and scan speed enhancements. It would just be better, end of story.

Yeah I agree with rejzor. I think if they had fully virt the sandbox, improved scan speed and detection, it would have been enough for most folks. If I do end up using it, I think I'd use everything except the Virtual kiosk.

New GUI is inferior to the one before. Not polished, unprofessional looking, not neat at all. I hate it I think.

I don't know what GUI you're all looking at; I think it looks great! As far as the actual program, I didn't want the 34 minute video.

Yeah sorta IMO its not much changed besides a polished sandbox, virtual kiosk, and a new interface and scan improvement. I don't mind about the new interface, but as long as it works fine its good

When it comes to security software, I've come to find that change is rarely good these days. Change turned what was IMO the best AV in the business into an afterthought for me. Not only didn't I like it, I didn't even trust it anymore, after partnering with a known scare-ware vendor and pushing an "optional" toolbar on you. And I must admit, the first time I saw "Geek Buddy", I thought it was the beginning of the end of my Comodo journey too. I still have an install pack of the build right before that addition, just in case I ever wanted to revert back to it.

In already proven products, I want less change/features, and just development of the already existing features that make it so great to begin with. With Comodo, that is the FW & D+. Not a sandbox, or an AV, or cloud scanning. When you aim to become a jack of all trades, you're usually a master of none. And a bloated master of none at that.

And another thing I love about my favorite software... the fact that I'm used to/familiar with it. Who wants to go through a learning curve all over again? I certainly hope they don't change the way you create rules.

I'll give it a chance to prove all these concerns unfounded though. But these days, they are almost always justified. Too many vendors trying to reinvent the wheel when the round version already works fine.

If they would just create a "slim" version for those of us that don't want all this extra fluff, there would be no reason to complain.

Well, it's just like most of the other GUI's of the security suites (i don't like either)... It's more simple, so less suitable for people like us

What I don't like are the default settings, hopefully you can change that.

Everybody is speaking about impressions good or bad.... anyway CIS is still the same product that protects your computer (because of the desing) better than any other suite and it's free.

Agreed.i am a fan of comodo and used it since version 4 came out.
Im not using it now because of the firewall problem.thats the only reason.
The comodo AV ive found to be very good and on par with anything else.
When my kaspersky subscripion runs out i may go back to comodo because in terms of what is offered for free its the best free security application there is.
I sincerely wish comodo the best of luck with the final release which is as ive been told is the end of october.
