Alternative to FireGPG

Since it's been discontinued, does anyone know of another method for encrypting and decrypting emails etc using the private/public key method?

I use Thunderbird with Enigmail - on Linux.

But I gather that it will also work on Windows -http://enigmail.mozdev.org/documentation/quickstart-ch1.php.html-.
