You can restore either partition separately or you could restore them both together. If you needed to resize one of the partitions as part of the restore (the Windows partition, for example), you would need to restore it separately.

On Windows 7 installations that have the System Reserved partition, I usually include it with the Windows 7 partition when backing up. It doesn't take up much space and then I have it later if I need it.

instructions included hope that helps you out
Hi ZFactor,

Thanks for the files and instructions. The reason to reply so late, because it messed up my computer. The RebuildBCD didn't work and gave the error, "Element not found". Then the computer didn't start. I had to restore from one month's back image. Tried it twice, so far didn't find any solution, even on the internet.

Best regards,

KOR!

Dear ZFactor,

Thank you for posting the files, which you did a good turn for me. I am grateful to you for this good turn. There is nothing wrong with the files you posted, it is my machines on which the BCD Store is really messed up.

Many thanks again!

Best regards,

2.72 released today:

Below is the changelist for IFW but the changes for IFD and IFL are pretty similar.

Quote:
Fixed issues (hang during backup or asking for a .#1 file that doesn't exist) related to using the new hash file created with /hash option during changes only backups. You'll need to rebuild the hash file to resolve being asked for the .#1 file that doesn't exist. Use the /hash action to rebuild it (e.g. imagew /hash /f:basefilename.tbi)

Added additional compression options for size and speed.

Updated file version (restores will require version 2.72 or later unless the backwards compatible option is used).

Added new option to have completely different subjects for emails sent upon completion based on success or failure.

Other Misc.

I like the Compression Enhanced Speed A. My backup completes in 38% of the previous time and the image is only 5% larger than the previous backup using Standard Compression. Your figures could be different.

First release of a new compression algorithm & file type. I think I'll wait for another version.

Anyone think V3 is coming soon? Based on the history of the product, based on the calendar transition from V1 to V2, V3 shoud be on the way. Maybe to come with Windows 8.

My guess is years to go. I can't recall the timescale from V1 to V2 but BIBM was "announced" almost 2 years before it was released.

And, then I believe the upgrade was free!

I might be wrong, as I am a very new comer to Terabyte!

ZFactor,

Thank you about A43. Do you know what I am doing wrong about explorer.exe and dixmlcom.exe?

Best regard,

alladin,

Maybe they need extra files to run from the WinRE. I haven't tried using them.

Hi Brian,

I get it now. Only the portable programs will run. I read your post about A43 and portable programs and now I get it.

How did you get A43 to run?

Where did you put A43?

Best regards,

alladin,

This is a quick method. Simply copy the a43 folder to an existing TBWinRE USB flash drive.

Boot from the flash drive
When the TBWinRE loads, close IFW
click Scripts, TeraByte Explorer
Make a note of the drive letter of the TBWINRE flash drive. Let's say it is F:
Close TeraByte Explorer
In the TBLauncher, Command Prompt
type the following line
start F:\a43\a43.exe
and press <Enter>
Done. A43 is open.

I also put the portable FreeCommander app on my flash drive. It does some things a43 doesn't do and vice versa.

http://www.freecommander.com/

Use the same method to run it. Change the folder name to Free and the exe name to free.exe. This saves typing long names at the Command Prompt.

I'm not sure but the above apps might only work if you made the TBWinRE in a 32-bit Win7.

Thanks Brain for the detailed information.

Have you tried to add to Windows Recovery [F8], the A43 and FreeCommander, instead adding to USB?

Would the instructions be the same?

Best regards,
