Default ? about MSE cache files -- all users /app data/MSAM/scans

What is a(n) - mpcache --(long number) -- 7e file, 67 file, 80 file, 87 file, A0 file, VE0 file, VE1 file, and MPDIAG BIN file located in "all users/app data/MSAM/Scans"? (in XP) Are these files important files for MS AM to function or are these files simply tracking/cache type files that are not necessary & can be deleted? thx
