Anyone using GNS3 in quad-core?

I'm sure those of you running GNS3, know what it is - a network simulation application. It's memory and CPU hungry.

I'm wondering if anyone has worked with it on both quad-core and eight-core platforms, and what the experience has been. GN3 is a multi-threading application, which means that it will use the CPU cores as needed, so the more cores the better.

I've seen contradicting feedback all over the place, including GNS3 own forums. Some say all is fine even in dual cores, some say it's awful, and one should have a quad-core system, at least. Others have mention that it runs peachy in systems such as as Mac Pro eight-core, or even custom built workstations with dual Intel Xeons e5.

Anyway, wondering what your experience has been.
