An individual with the handle AnonNyre is claiming responsibility for the attacks.

Maybe AnonNyre represents Pirate Pay Maybe even it's MPAA

Remember, Sony did include rootkits on its CDs.

I personally feel they are trolling and were not responsible, but time will tell.

Pirate bay has been accessible here all along, no problems at all. Not much of an attack.

Pirate Pay may be a good guess here, seeing as how they've made the news recently. However, if they truly are representing the corporations who want to see piracy end, I don't think they would resort to taking on the persona of what seems to be a teenager (or a completely stoned/drunk adult). I have very serious doubts this person has ever spoke with a "Fed", much less worked with one.
