Today I try this program first time. After trying another five programs, it was shock for me looking to the speed of making first full backup. Other programs needed about ten hours to make backup(about 380 Gb USB 3.0), this program made the same partitions in 2,5 hours.
But destination HDD is completly fragmented. My question: is it sense to defragment this HDD(it takes much time)? Thanks and sorry my not good english. Wojtek |

IMO, it makes no sense to defrag your external HD for several reasons:
1. There always is a risk moving large amounts of data around and a 1 bit error can make your image useless. 2. You likely will never use the archive so why worry about it. Archive files are not like some part of the operating system which may be frequently accessed. 3. The time to restore the archive is about the same as the time it took to create it so possibly adding a small amount of extra time because of fragmentation is nothing to be concerned about. |
