Default avast 7 Updates

I am running Windows 7 and I installed Avast 7. I have not been able to get it to update. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it with no luck

Hello
Do you have a firewall 'blocking' the update?

Try installing avast 7 in safe mode with networking. You may have to restart twice after installing.

I had to restart a second time to get my internet connected.

I'm not trying to discourage you from posting here, but may I ask if you've tried Avasts user forum?

Did you download the avast uninstall tool and run it before installing avast?

Sometimes after failed attempts at installing avast it's best to run the uninstall tool before trying again.

I have tried all the methods listed above. I am going to install another antivirus program. Thanks for the help.

With so little info given to us it's nearly impossible to say anything. I'd say it's either something with firewall or the router setting.

@bamaman66, you can go to avast! forums and upload (attach) the avast log:
<avast folder>\Setup\setup.log

If the file is too big for the forum, post the last 400-500 lines of it.
