Question Roboscan...any good?

A member on these forums recommended I try Roboscan since I was asking about 64-bit security solutions and this one sound promising, it has the Bitdefender Engine along with their own scanning engine so that's like layered protection...

I tried to google a review about them but failed to find good results..

so here are a few questions:

1) Is it any good ? How are the detection levels? cleaning?

2) How bad does it affect system performance?

3) Since they claim to have 2 scanning engines, does that mean I ought to not install my MBAM Pro and setup exclusion as that would be overkill?

4) Does its firewall slow down your internet like ESS does or is it ok?

I'm assuming Roboscan is estsoft? Here are a couple links-
http://www.roboscan.com/aboutus/pres...px?ai=114&cp=1
http://www.roboscan.com/aboutus/pres...px?ai=113&cp=1
http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/RAP/RA...-Feb12-850.jpg

I'm wondering if roboscan uses the latest bitdefender engine and whether there are any nag screens or other types of ads.

Wow! According to the 3rd link, it seems they have very good detection rates.

I am still trying to download it, I can't get more than 33 KB/S from their server

I dont know if this is latest engine but heres screenshot.I dont see any nag screens ,though ive only installed it in the last few hours.Theres ad in main gui ,but nothing annoying. The firewall is nice and simple and can be set to prompt on out going stuff.Seems light running ,both for browsing and computing.Just checked with few current malware of usual sites ,but didnt detect anything, although mbam only detected one too,so cant really tell how good it is detection wise.Guess we need expert testers for that.

Well most of the tests ive seen and had a go myself with ,were with current zeroday day stuff ,and to be fair not many of the other avs perform that well until a day(or few later). The only professional test results ive seen is the one in the link in post 2.Seems strange that ALyac seems to be the same program and isnt released yet though

I tried it some time ago and found it light, non-intrusive, and easy to use.

Not a twin.

Roboscan is the name they use for the english market or whatever. Alyac is their name, and they are based here in Korea.

Tbh I believe nothing is wrong with the detection rate. Especially since they have passed professional tests with excellent results. Simply let them know if you think there is a bug.

I like it. Just wish the icon in the taskbar was the penguin & not the pill. That'd be a lot cooler Roboscan.

The pro version is actually quite cheap under £7,too.I quite like the simple application firewall.I wonder why the free suite has been released here but not in korea though?.I may give this one a try for a bit longer and see how it goes.

Only provide free AV, the suite you have to pay for.
