how to install cinnamon on ubuntu 12.04

i thought it gonna be clash with ubuntu unity but i was wrong WOW

now i like to add how to install cinnamon on ubuntu unity

add ppa by following command

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gwendal-lebihan-dev/cinnamon-stable

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install cinnamon

and then logout and login into cinnamon

you can install themes from above either by install ppa or by extracting themes in home


Extract the downloaded folder and move the two subfolders "Baldr" and "Loki" into either /usr/share/themes/ (as root) or ~/.themes/

i prefer extracting themes in home

for example theme Nightlife 2.2

1st open home folder in view show hidden files and folder there create a folder .themes

now extract Nightlife 2.2 (BDHQ-FHRP-G68X)

extract folder you get a folder name BDHQ-FHRP-G68X

inside it you see many nightlife folders(themes) nightlife mint nightlife flex........etc

now cut these folders and paste them in

home/.themes (hidden folder that you created above)

from cinnamon setting change theme according your need )
