Default Re: Firewall

Considering WSA Complete already has a firewall to cover the outbound unsolicited calls you could be simply happy with windows firewall. If you are confused of possible options make it simpler do not mess up with your setup, you will be perfectly safe with WSA and windows firewall.

You posted the same message here:

Probably one of the two should go?

Greats,

darts

Increase control level the firewall of WebRootSecure Anywhere and you are covered (de-install private FireWall), here is how to do it:

- click WSA icon tray (open WSA)
- from main WSA window
- click PC security button
- select firewall tab
- select third option "Warn if any new untrusted process connects to the internet

nope....I'm using Webroot SecureAnywhere firewall + Online Armour Premium as my firewall........I have set that option Kees mentioned to tighten up....wsa would be enough for you..even for banking online.....loggers of most kind - new or old would be taken care of by identity shield......passwords would be taken care of by the password manager of wsa since you enjoy complete version......wsa av will keep away malicious software of all kinds.....just keep your system clean...and if there is no malware ...there is nothing to threaten your banking online activity or whatever unless of course if malware is in the banking system itself.....

Keep your windows firewall on as well,WSA works in harmony with it.Keep it simple and quiet, unless you want more control over programs such as with hips then OA or private Firewall are both excellent.

The premium version of OA has Banking mode,Guard shields for files and registry protection in the advanced set up,that are actually off by default.Other then that there is not much difference from the free version.

In last post, was referring to MBAM. For my firewall setup, running windows and WSA. Have had this setup since day one and have not encountered ANY problems whatsoever. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"!!

Don't add firewalls when you don't need to.
