what's the difference & are both needed on a linux web server?

ESET File Security for Linux provides antivirus,and antispyware protection for Linux servers.

ESET Mail Security for Linux provides antivirus,and antispyware protection for Linux servers. and in addition also scans the following protocols for malware, and spam: POP3, SMTP and IMAP.

You would only install one, or the other, on an individual Linux server.
