Whats wrong with the conception as long as theres no overhead or system drag?.

I wanted to ask the same question. As long as it's doing it's job without high CPU or RAM usage it's good for me. Less fragmentation->less defrag-> longer HDD life.

I have a 60GB SSD for Windows 7 in my desktop computer but in my notebook i can't use SSD because i need at least 360GB for my data.

Im far from knowledgable on SSD drives but from what i read

and looking at the current prices ,and expected life of them im not convinced that for the average joe (myself) they are currently worth investing in.Maybe in two or three years.

In my experience Diskeeper is incapable of keeping my hard drive organised. And doesn't take account to the Layout.ini. It's a marketing hype.

I've made just a comparative test on my computer. MyDefrag SystemDiskMonthly or UltimateDefrag 3 (with my Layout.ini workaraund***) simply provides better boot times, than PerfectDisk SMARTPalcement Performance Aggressive or Diskeeper IntelliWrite+I-FAAST.

PerfectDisk's additional process(PDAgent) uses for scheduling, remote communication and defragmentation.

OptiWrite has its own driver(filter) to process files write in order to prevent fragments. It's a real-time fragmentation prevention technology, not on-demand defrag.
