WSA increasing MBAM scan time?

Personally I've never bothered to run the two together. I know that in theory you should be able to. Whenever I've felt the need to run a MBAM scan, I've shut down WSA and let MBAM do its thing, preferably at a time when I'm not using the computer.

I've taken a closer look at this - the next update to WSA should significantly improve scan speed with MBAM active
