A family member cannot remember the password for her Windows Vista admin/user account. Anyone know of any safe and reliable software (free would be nice) that allows the user to recover or delete the existing password so they can access their user files, etc.

What whitedragon says.
Another alternative is Ophcrack. With this you can either let it try to brute-force the password or reset it. I've used both of these and they work well.
