Default folder and file names corrupted

folder and file names corrupted

I have downloaded and installed yesterday the trial of NTFS for Mac.
I am able to open and copy files to and from NTFS drives.
I am prepared to purchase the software but the above fault is worrying.

The names of discs, folders and files on all the NTFS drives I have tested are changed to either a series of square symbols or Chinese characters.

Is this normal for this to happen, if it is not how can I stop this?
I am not prepared to alter every filename on a drive, but even so this solution doesn't always work.

thank you for reading my complaint.

I have the same OS, same NTFS for Mac version, also PPC. Same problem!

Also, when I write new files to the drive, they show up normally. It's just the existing files that get the chinese names. If the drive is read on another Mac that doesn't have NTFS for Mac, the old file names are back to normal, but the files I've written to the drive are not visible!

The NTFS for Mac software only works with Intel Based Macs, by the sound of it neither of you are using an intel based Mac, I would recommend uninstalling the Software.
