Default NTFS System Files in Terminal

Hello,
Is there a way to mount an NTFS image so I can see the NTFS file system files ($MFT, $UsrJrnl, etc) files when I do a listing in terminal? I don't HAVE to see them in the finder view.

I work with a lot of images (DD, E01) as part of my job, so I can mount the image file so OS X can see it, then I can mount it with hdiutil to see the file system, but I'm getting the basic files and folders. I would also like to see the system files as well.

Normally if I was working in *nix I could just do a mount command with -o show_sys_files.

I emailed support about this last week and never received any sort of reply.

I'm running OS X Lion.

Thanks ahead of time....
