Glad you can now disable the splash screen. It use to take longer with the splash screen and caused the fans to spin up now it opens right away with the splash screen disabled.

after using for a while i find still that perfectdisk is the only one that can truly defrag and place the mft. auslogics can defrag it but leaves it scattered on the disk and perfectdisk will nicely place all the mft in one set area. other than this i really do like the new auslogics pro

That's interesting. I will put back PerfectDisk 12.5 Pro and see if i can get some performance improvements.

Odd, i noticed the exact same on my systems too. When allowed, PD completely defragged all the normally locked & fragmented MFT, pagefile, hiberfil files. I use UltimateDefrag to verify completion after a PerfectDisk boot-time defrag.

If anyone knows of another, pls feel free to share your results. PD Boot-Defrag is one of my usual normal routines concluding a full defrag & consolidate with UD, and this combo is proved very reliable for me.

Thnks

so far perfectdisk is the only one i have found that does a proper boot time defrag. ultimate defrag i have had WAY to many non boot and broken mbr's from i just am done with it otherwise it was the only other one that did as well of a job of moving files. i REALLY want to like auslogics pro but the scattered mft is telling me the boot time is not doing a very good job imo. i have even tested diskeeper and it also does not do a very good boot time for me. it does seem to defrag everything but doesn't place it all nice and neat on the disk...

Auslogics Disk Defrag Pro seems much more user friendly than perfect disk. I got the full version from the download crew for only $19 or so which was a bargain for a 3 user license.

From what I've seen of Auslogics pro so far I've liked the profile building and boot time defrag options.

At one stage I was running an 'optimize by access time' defrag and got a BSOD caused by bad memory. After rebooting it was impossible to reboot into windows even via safe mode. Had to re-install the entire OS but luckily was able to get the data off the HD using another boot disk.

There are DiskDefrag Pro 4.0.1.50 and BoostSpeed 5.2.1.10.
BoostSpeed also contains a DiskDefrag, but I have not found any info as to what version.
Are they both the same, or is one a newer one?

Thanks for posting that critical issue you experienced. I use another type Defragger and i have suffered a similar malfunction. My only guess was that something didn't quite gel as expected or the disk/file system was overtaxed or at the very least delivered some motion that created a serious system corruption.
I believe their very rare but sometimes happen with no warning.
