Startingpage, DDG, Bing and Ixquick pick it up now. Guess you prolly forced them to index it.

Never heard of that one before! Gonna give it a try for a few weeks. Does the https version work for you? I just see a blank page. Non-encrypted works fine though.

Edit: Nevermind. Here's the ssl address

Both have https available
https://www.startpage.com
https://www.google.com

It's what they record from users which differs greatly. Startpage's only takes the user agent string and date & time. If you customize the search portal page, you get an anonymous cookie.

Doesn't startpage also give a person an option to have search settings with a url address (instead of a cookie) which can then be used as the startpage page?

It does. So does Ixquck and Startingpage. Either use their settings output as a bookmarked page or by this method in the link. Scroll down to the Hack the Search part.
Link

About Privatelee, seems like a really good search portal so far. Seems also that it's just a different name for qrobe.it. Same policies and parent company. For some reason though, neither work on my main system....

Editing to add: It works fine now. Forgot I had Refcontrol installed. Qrobe and Privatelee need exceptions of you're spoofing referrers.

I see starting page has a dates filter and url generator for settings. That is outstanding. But the dates filter does not apply to video or image searches, unless I don't see how to get that filter with those particular searches.

As far as I can tell, they only do date sorting for web searches.
