A heads up just in case this turns out to be a problem for 64 bit users. A user has narrowed it down to one particular update which affects him.

Thanks. Still not clear if the update or something else is the issue.

Installed all the updates, using Windows 7 x64 Home Premium SP1, Sandboxie 3.64 w/ Experimental Protection turned ON, and no problems. Still up and running

Working great as always for me on 64 bit with EP.
Appears to be a Spyshelter + Windows update issue (perhaps if 'hard hooks' selected in Spyshelter). Both products 'innovative' in solving 64 bit patchguard restrictions so conflict perhaps not too surprising. Cheers

Ok so I turned it on, and after pushing ok, UAC prompt popped up from Windows and then I clicked yes. Windows then does something and then says windows will shutdown in a few minutes. It restarted itself and everything seems to be working properly.
Did UAC pop up for you guys as well? I don't know if this is coincidence(sp?) or not, but after turning on EP, and I logged into facebook, I have no more news ticker(the thing that shows updates from everyone or what not). Edit: and also in facebook, I got blank thumbnail pictures, whether in firefox sandboxed or not. I'm not sure if this has something to do with EP from sandboxie. IT doesn't do it anymore but it did after restarting after enabling EP. Last edited by wutsup : February 15th, 2012 at 10:12 PM. |

I'm probably being paranoid, but after turning on Sandboxie's Experimental Protection, does it change any of the system settings such as mouse sensivity, windows services, custom user settings etc etc?
And I hope that Facebook problems I had were not because of turning on Experimental Protection but just a random coincedence. |

I updated my PC before I left for work.
Came home and Sandboxie was not working. So I followed the advice and uninstalled this update and only this. No other software/os settings were changed. Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2660465) Sandboxie now works. For myself it was this update that caused the issue. Using Windows 7 64 Bit Pro. Sandboxie 64 Bit with Experimental Protection off. I turned on Experimental Protection and it still works. Guess I will leave it on from now on. |

Working fine here. I shut down Experimental protection first, then install updates and turn it back on.

Yep I have Spy Shelter Premium and it works. I am updating Spy Shelter to see if it will still allow Sandboxie. I will post back if the update still allows Sandboxie to still run. I am still not going to add that Windows Update until Sandboxie is updated to work with it. Edit: Yep updated Spy Shelter, all settings still the same for all programs. Things are running fine. No issues with Sandboxie or other programs so far. Last edited by Function : February 17th, 2012 at 02:55 PM. |

Yea I don't know what happen to Facebook, but it's back to normal now. No problems with no thumbnail pictures not showing anymore. Maybe it was just a coincedence. And I don't think it changed any of my windows settinsgs or customizations, I'm just wondering if that's possible |

For those affected, tzuk (sandboxie's developer) has posted a possible fix:

Thanks for the reply. The fix posted by Tzuk solved my problem. I am able to run SpyShelter Premium 6.1 , Sandboxie 3.65.01 (Test) & patch my PC with KB2660465. You may want to give a try. |

Sandboxie is still broken with SpyShelter Firewall v1.00.
Best regards, KOR! |
