camptunes 9.5 ""the network is not present..."

I want to backup to a network share, either Lion Server or Windows server 2008R2. Both are on the same LAN as my Macbook Air 2011.
Camptunes boots fine. But when I try to configure the network in "Tools", this error is presented: "the network is not present or not started".
Or, if I go directly to "Backup", I cannot browse to any network location.
How can I get acccess to a network location?
