Default Seeking suggestions for on-demand anti-everything.

I haven't been following anti-virus market for years, so not really knowledgeable about current offerings.

What I am looking for: anti-everything (it seems antivirus, antimalware, antirootkit are now often different products) with highest ON DEMAND detection rate. My main target OS is Windows 7 x64, secondary are Windows Vista 32 and Windows XP 32. I would prefer single product but will consider multiple as well. Doesn't have to be free but has to satisfy criteria I will list below.

I will not use real-time protection at all (I have seen enough cases in the past where it would conflict with legitimate software and was really difficult to find out it was AV causing a problem). So it is required that I am able to turn real-time protection off completely. Ideally software wouldn't even load unless started on-demand.

I think it would be great if I could boot it from CD or flash drive (should be better for rootkit detection?) but I don't know if something like this even exists.

I would like it to work at OS level as opposed to taking over whole computer. That is I don't want another software firewall, plugin for each internet browser to analyze web pages, etc.

I would like something that is easily and completely uninstalled via control panel without leaving any pieces behind and breaking OS.

I think this about covers it.

You might like to check the On-Demand Comparative Tests here : http://www.av-comparatives.org/en/co...detection-test

The experience of many many users in many years confirm that there are avs, fws, HIPS, that don't make conflict. And that real protection is only in real time.

I already did. It does give you data about detection rate, however there is no information about other criteria I mention (ability to turn off real-time scanning, clean uninstall, etc) - this can only come from users.

You can disable real time security for practically all security software and their de-installer routine has improved greatly. Most if not all have trial software that can be tried and you can see if it plays well on your machine. Forums offer a wealth of information on almost any security information that you might chose.
