Paragon B&R 2011 (Advanced) Free Startup problem

Hi!

I'm new on this forum, and I have a problem with Paragon B&R.

When trying to start up Paragon B&R I get the following message:

"Operation failed"

"Paragon Backup & Recovery™ could not be started because some product that uses the Hard Disk Engine must be already running.
Please close that program first and try again."

I can't find out what other program might use the "Hard Disk Engine". I have turned off automatic defragmenting (Vista).

My laptop:
ASUS X71Q, 4GB RAM, HDD 250GB, 2 partitions (C, D), NTFS, Vista home premium.

The same program works very well on my desktop computer (old Dell running XP).

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I don't know if any of these processes is causing the Paragon startup problem or if it is a problem with Paragon program itself.

Someone else having the same problem?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In your processes there is nothing related to Paragon. Are this processes for all users? There is a check-box to display all processes in Task Manager. Maybe something is running under Administrator account.

Yes, this is processes for all users.

Actually I could get the program (Paragon B&R) to run twice, after a very long wait, but it could not figure out how the partitions was placed or formatted.

There is 3 partitions on the HDD:

1 hidden Fat32 12GB with "Express Gate" (instant-on environment, web browser, skype and other apps).

2 Primary partition NTFS 116GB C: with Vista OS.

3 Logical partition NTFS 105GB D: Data.

Paragon reports the hidden Fat32 as C: and the NTFS 116GB Vista as D: and the NTFS 105GB Data as Unformatted.

I have tried the EASEUS Todo backup free 2.51 and everything worked fine with no problem (except it has less features).

Edit:
That was what the program reported the first time it started up.
The second time the Paragon B&R started up it correctly reported the NTFS 116GB Vista as C: but still wrongly reported the NTFS 105GB Data as Unformatted.

It appears last partition borders exceed HDD capacity or a crossed with previous partition C.

According to your LOG there is FAT32 partition which covers Data NTFS. As 2 partitions have almost same starts and ends- Data is shown as unformatted.

It' shard to say why FAT32 is created beyond the NTFS Data.

Could you please post here a screenshot of Windows Disk Management?
* right-click on 'My computer' and choose 'Manage';
* select 'Disk Management' in 'Storage';
* maximize the window;
* click 'PrintScreen' key on the keyboard to capture the screen into the Windows Clipboard;
* paste the image and save it as JPG, GIF or PNG file;
* post the image here

Also please specify if Data partition is encrypted.

No partition is encrypted and everything is as it was originally made at Asus, except I have added a samsung 1TB HDD (Data E.

Attached You will find a sreenshot of the "Disk Management".
This is a swedish version of Windows, "Felfri"=No fault.

Happened to me as well. I had to remove Paragon FREE.

Whenever I turn on my USB hard drive, Paragon refuses to load and says:
