If only

I have beta tested many things over the past and i think the best offer i got was a 20% discount on the final release product.

So its very doubtfull.
Kaspersky, PrevX, TrusPort, Bullguard, Bitdefender, AVG, Appguard.... i beta tested them all and i always got a free license!! I think Eset should deal fairly with their beta testers and provide free license for those who were actively testing the software.

Eset did offer free licences to Beta testers when V4 was released. Maybe they'll make the same offer this time around. Marcos to reply.

According to documentation:

400 MHz CPU [x86/x64]
128 MB RAM

Right now the RAM usage is between 64 MB in my laptop. Very light and superior protection.

If those really are the minimum requirements for ESET v5, and I surely believe they are, then ESET could just say: "Minimum CPU and RAM requirements: none."

I guarantee there isn't a supported OS that will run with those specs. Is that documentation for v2?

I guess Microsoft does claim XP will run with those requirements. Though I wouldn't have run a machine with those specs even a decade ago when it came out.

This would be great. I have beta tested from the very beginning and perhaps ESET would consider offering a license to those of us who have actively been testing the V5 for months.

Hello,

You should be able to install v5 on top of v4.2, however, as Swex suggested, it would be best to do a clean install so you can look through all of the changes and default settings of the new version.

(XP SP3 setup) I Downloaded the ESS Installer which then Downloaded 54 MB for Install.

I installed OVER ESS 5 RC that had given me No Trouble at all to net 5.0.93.0 and everything seems fine. I show as a Paid License with the Correct Expiration, Full (Green) Protection BUT ............

I was NEVER asked for the User ID and Password! The Instructions for "existing users" state to have them ready.

Does THAT imply a hidden Problem? 1st time ever for No ID & Password required.

I Downloaded From:
http://go.eset.com/us/download after Clicking "already purchased" Button ..............

cosmo26

If you download v5 after give ID and PW maybe the download file included these ID and PW. By installing over a version with same ID and PW, no need to give them again because the installer could have checked that and you are ok. Marcos can confirm...

Since ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security have gone gold and are now available as official release versions, please continue any further discussions in the appropriate forum:

ESET NOD32 Antivirus
ESET Smart Security

Having said that, we'll draw this thread to a close.

Hello,

If there is a copy of the software with a username and password already present on the system, you should not be asked to enter it a second time if upgrading on top of that version.

What date does the license say it is valid to in the ESET User Interface?

Regards,

Aryeh Goretsky
