Default Multi SS

"Create error: the parameter is incorrect"

This is the error after installing MS and trying to create a snapshot.

Hi Lew,
The error means that the cache is full and there is insufficient room left to properly save the latest snapshot. To resolve, you will need to increase the size of the cache.

That would be hard to say. How many snaps did you have and how many do you anticipate hitting regularly?

I have no snaps. Never have. Just installed the program. LOL
How big do I need the cache to be set at for it to work?

What is the default disk cache setting you are shown during the installation and how much free space do you have on the System partition?

Hi,
Try the install again, but when presented with the cache setting, change it to at least 4 GB and perhaps as high as 10 GB for the size of your disk which would be 4000 - 10000 in the install window as it shows the cache size in MB.

The lead developer explains it like this:

Quote:
200 GB hdd needs 2GB at least, for 600 GB, it is better to make a cache for 4-10 GB

As this is an estimate, you may want to lean towards the higher side of that range and test for stability and performance before reducing it or making it larger if required.

Let me know the results

Mike
