Every time I try to run Paragon Partition Manager Professional 11
I get an error popup window that says 'Operation failed - No free partition entry (cant create primary record). I'm wondering why it doesn't even run? I have tried reinstalling it butnothing works. Going to have to use GParted in Linux instead! Thanks Paragon! Error:10004 Love beta testing software. Last edited by davidm71 : May 8th, 2011 at 09:12 AM. |

Hi,
I have about four drives on a P8p67 Deluxe. 1 OCZ SSD with 1 efi partition, and 1 gpt Mac partition, 1 crucial Ssd with win 7 64, 1 Caviar black with ntfs and gpt Mac partition split in half, and one 150gb raptorX drive with 1 efi partition, 2 gpt guid Mac partitions, and 1 ubuntu partition with grub installed into that partition. Oh yeah! |

Hi David,
I haven't seen that error before. Perhaps you could post up the fdisk.txt and pwlog.txt as well. Paragon techs would like to see it I am sure. |

I am already in contact with the techs and sent them those files. Turns out that the software runs as long as my 150GB Raptor is unplugged. Must have a problem with GUID partition systems with more than four partitions is my guess as that drive has one efi partition, two gpt hfs+ partitions, 1 ext3 linux parition, and a linux swap partition all on the same drive. I dual boot mac os and linux on that drive. The grub loader is actually installed on the linux partition itsself. Never the less Acronis Disk Director has no issues running and if they can't fix this I'm going to switch camps... Thanks. |

Could you please post here a screenshot of Windows Disk Manager? * right-click on 'My computer' and choose 'Manage'; * select 'Disk Management' in 'Storage'; * maximize the window; * click 'PrintScreen' key on the keyboard to capture the screen into the Windows Clipboard; * paste the image and save it as JPG, GIF or PNG file; Attach the image here.

Well take a look at this. Note that Acronis has no trouble running and displaying a disk partition map.
Thanks. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/e...m671/disks.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/e...71/acronis.jpg |

Seems like they have another partitioning disk suite that has a newer engine and they're going to let me exchange for another version. Sounds like I'm on the right track...

Yep - looks like you are fortunate to get the new one.
I will have to get hold of one too. Let us know the build number when you get it. |

They want me to pay $28 to upgrade to a better version. The nerve of them. No way I'm going to that. I'd rather put the money towards an upgrade price of their competitor I mentioned before. They either give me a fixed version of what I payed or give me a complimentary swap to the PHM Pro version or no deal...

Not sure what that is about.
If there is a new engine - surely it will be released as an update to the existing holders of pm 11 licenses. |

They said its a two week wait. Not sure what to do... pay $28 to go to the pro business version or get back just as much to down grade or wait two weeks...

They will be issuing a general update in 2 weeks ?
If you want the new engine before that - then you have to pay for an upgrade? Is that what it means ? Tricky one - depends if you need to any partitioning in the next couple of weeks. |

Been using linux or Gparted on an extra partition. May do the upgrade I don't know or maybe go with an upgrade to Acronis disk director instead. Not sure about the virtualization features though with virtualbox and how that works. Sounds cool. Been playing with that for the last couple weeks as well so maybe I could use it...
Thanks. I still think they should have offered me a free upgrade for the trouble. I mean I found a bug. They said its a 'missing feature' the fact they're app crashes when it sees a partitioning scheme its not use to. Sorry its a bug. Just my opinion... |

Update:
I was able to fix this run error by upgrading to the Paragon Hard Disk Management Suite Professional. Problem solved there but theres another issue with their software. The other day I installed Paragon's NTFS OSX file utility to read mac file system within windows. It completely hosed my system. I was getting blue screens left and right! I went into event viewer and one file came up over and over again in the error report. Uli underscore something or the other . sys. I googled it and it came up as a Paragon file. Couldn't even uninstall the application. I had to restore an Acronis image file I had from a month ago loosing data. At least no more blue screens. I mean who writes this crap? ~Removed - TOS~ This is ridiculous. I will never trust their software to my data ever again. I'm sick of beta testing this and paying for it! ~Comments removed - TOS~ Last edited by ronjor : May 22nd, 2011 at 09:54 PM. Reason: Offensive phrases removed |
