Default NOD32 possibly removing email attachments

Hi

Please can you help me.

Recently emails we are sending out with attachements are arriving at the recipient with the attachment removed and all incoming emails with attachments are not coming through to recipients at all.

Our current setup is as follows:

MS Exchange 2007 server
SBS 2008
MS Outlook client on workstations
NOD32 v4 Network Version

Emails can be sent and received as long as there is no attachments involved.

We recently moved the First Storage Group as disk space was getting low but didnt at first add it to the exclude scanning exception. This has caused corruption of the database which appears in event viewer and we have unmounted it to repair in the meantime hoping maybe this may be a solution (although im not sure it is).

If someone has encountered this problem before I would really appreciate your help.

Thank you

As a test, can you get somebody externally to email you, but view their email in OWA rather than Outlook. (Shut down Outlook on the client). That way you'll get to see the email before Outlook and ESET see it.

Bear in mind that OWA may not show all attachments, but hopefully it will show enough to give you a pointer.

an update to this issue...

ty for your kind assistance but thankfully we have been able to repair the database and it looks like this was the cause of the attachment removal after being scanned by NOD32.

Now all attachments coming and going are working.

Have a nice day.
