We are testing with the latest version of Esets File server security for linux in ubuntu. Installation and all went OK and the product is running however when I try to start the Esets_wwwi to do some easy configuration the service won't start.
I changed the esets.cfg to activate the wwwi however even when I restart and do a grep on esets the only items I see is that the Esets_daemon is running twice (as it suppose to be). Any idea where to look? |

Hello,
Please make sure you have followed these instructions: How do I activate the Web Interface of ESET Security for Linux/BSD/Solaris? Hope it helps.

I followed those instructions. Please find here the part of the esets.cfg file that controls the wwwi. Please note that the IP also have been set to 0.0.0.0. no change, also firewall is wide open.
[wwwi] # Settings for ESETS Web Interface configuration module # agent_enabled = yes/no # Enables operation of the esets_wwwi. agent_enabled = yes # listen_addr = "address" # Address (IP or name) where esets_wwwi listens for HTTPS client connections. # If set to 0.0.0.0 then esets_wwwi listens on all available network interfaces. listen_addr = "192.168.1.116" # listen_port = port # TCP port where esets_wwwi listens for HTTPS client connections. # You may have to open this port in your firewall. listen_port = 9999 # username and password needed for accessing the interface (required) #username = "test" #password = "test" |

Hi,
For wwwi to work, username and password need to be uncommented. Save the configuration, restart the eset daemon. To access the page, type https://listen_addr:listen_port e.g. https://192.168.1.116:9999 or https://hostmachine_ip:9999 if the listen_addr has been set to 0.0.0.0. |
